eLearning in research, teaching and further education in Germany

The possibilities of computerised network-based training and advanced training are the subject of a wide range of studies and trials in academe and practice at both national and international level. However, the broad base of experience in this field only reaches back a few years – primarily since the arrival of powerful intranets and extranets, the associated tools and appropriate didactic and organisational concepts. The complex and dynamic field of virtual learning now involves not only a multitude of concepts and strategies but also initial experience from practice in a range of varied applications. The task of the project is to monitor this field, identify current and innovative developments and reflect on concepts and options for political action.
