Inspired by a similar project hosted by the Norwegian Board of Technology, The Danish Board of Technology has launched an educational campaign on the subject of personal data protection aimed at young people. The main purpose of the campaign is to encourage 13 to 15 year olds to review their knowledge of data protection. Secondly, the campaign is designed to motivate the target audience to take responsibility for data protection, both their own and other peoples, when using digital media.
Protection of personal data is an extensive and complex subject. Rather than trying to cover all areas and aspects of personal data protection, this educational campaign is designed to increase young people's knowledge of personal data protection and to increase their awareness with regards to how they should handle their own and others' personal data both on the Internet and other places in society.
