Synthetic Biology

There is a need to start a debate on the character of synthetic biology - a new branch of biotechnology - in Denmark. What kind of risks could be connected to the development of extreme parts of synthetic biology? Do the national and international set of regulations in the field cope with the elements of risks?
The project will pin down to a row of themes focusing on risks of synthetic biology and discuss these controversial themes on expert workshops. The project will deliver a debate material to raise a broad discussion at a stage where synthetic biology is still a new development of genetic engineering.
