Noise and Technology

Noise is sound that is unwanted. Noise is perhaps the environmental factor that affects the greatest number of people. On the Euro-barometer's environmental forecast from 1995, noise ranks number five on the list of complaints about the local environment. This same forecast also evinces a marked increase in people's willingness to do something about reducing noise. In public opinion polls, noise is regarded as being one of the most important causes in the diminishing "quality of life". The Board's project dealing with noise is aimed at taking stock of the present-day battle with noise and of the political agencies that might be helpful in the cause. And the project sets it sights on underlining the need for necessary changes.
