The DBT Foundation offers a variety of participatory processes that provide decision makers with valuable insight into the attitudes of the citizens with regard to political priorities. We are internationally recognized for the development of citizen engagement methods, which are used both locally and globally.
Establishes a forum where selected citizens, stakeholders and politicians in small groups are invited to discuss a theme. The dialogue meeting can be controlled by the DBT Foundation project managers and the results are collected and disseminated.
Participartory budgeting is a result-oriented meeting form that gives the citizens a democratic opportunity to come with their recommendation to the municipal budgeting, whilst the politicians gets a better founded and viable basis for decision.
The Future Workshop is suitable for working with local challenges and solutions. The issue being discussed at the workshop directly affects the participants. Individual participants’ experiences are brought into play. A shared interest in doing something about a problem is the common starting point.
This is a method used in both large and small groups where the participants debate critical and complex issues affecting the future. Each participant will contribute with his or her individual competence and creativity to directly influence on the final result.
Encompasses three phases: Criticism, vision and execution. The scenario workshop is based on scenarios for future development within an area or topic. The scenarios are formulated in advance.
Enables decision makers to test policy options on a representative population sample. The politicians receive clear answers and mandate to make tough, sensitive decisions from the participating citizens.

Responsible Research and Innovation
There is an increased pressure for research and innovation to help solve major societal challenges. The DBT Foundation creates processes where relevant participants are involved in the formulation and prioritization of new projects, as well as the dissemination and evaluation of ongoing projects. The processes combine dialogue and debate with analytical assessments based on well-proven methods.
Interactivity occurs when the thing being debated mutually affects the debating parties. Without the interaction the affect would otherwise never have occurred. In the successful interactive process there will be shared knowledge and new knowledge will be created.
Stakeholder and expert Engagement
Involvement of stakeholders, researchers and experts in policy development and the course of a giving project, ensures interdisciplinary perspectives and broad-based results.
Expert Dialogue is an organized collaborative process where participants with different but relevant backgrounds are put together to create the basis for recommendations and solutions.
A parliamentary hearing gives the politicians answers to specific questions within a topical issue. The politicians questions and discusses with experts in the specific field. The primary purpose of a hearing is to give the politicians the information they need in their work in the parliament.
In order to allow for employee-driven innovation the DBT Foundation organizes processes where employees at all levels in an organization or business contribute their knowledge to new targeted development.
Open Innovation involves the users in the creative innovation process and contributes to optimized service, customer satisfaction and profit. The DBT Foundation has developed a method of open innovation, which focuses on an area of technology or a societal problem where it is possible to see opportunities for improvement.
EU and International
The DBT Foundation has international and award winning status as a frontrunner in dialog generating technology assessment. Since the establishment of the DBT Foundation it has followed and conveyed knowledge about new technology to the society. We work together with EU and other international research and innovation networks, both in regards to management but also with research assignments.
Your public engagement partner in Horizon 2020
We participate in European R&I projects as coordinator or partner depending on the needs of each particular project. Over the years we have built a strong network of excellent partners with whom we are lucky to work on a regular basis. At the same time we are always looking for new acquaintances just as we are always eager to see new perspectives on the relations between science, innovation, public policy and the views and values of citizens.

The DBT Foundation is a frontrunner in dialogue generating technology assessment methods. We work with European research and innovation policies, trans European technology assessment projects, global citizen engagement as well as management and process facilitation of international projects.
Space and meeting facilities
The meeting rooms at The DBT Foundation are functional and cosy as well as centrally situated in Copenhagen. Due to the modern and flexible equipment at the meeting facilities, the rooms can be adapted to different types of workshops, presentations and lectures. The rooms are newly renovated in an old warehouse with exposed old robust beams.

Foresight is about the ability to relate qualified and actively to the future. You are able to say something about which decisions are relevant today by looking at the future. Foresight also gives the opportunity to think joint about the future challenges and opportunities.
Is a future-oriented technology analysis. Outlook allows for assessment of technological trends and possible developments, which thereby can assist a better and more informed decision-making process.
... Are guidelines for political actions and an analysis of political matters. The analysis relates not only to the political decision-making processes but also to the entire practice in the field.
Extrapolates a series of events in order to demonstrate possible developments and consequences, it creates dialogue and increases the understanding of opportunities in the future.
